Growing Up Dynamite

Growing up in Colorado Springs, CO seemed to be full of some sort of drama everyday; although now some say "there's nothing to do except go to Wal-Mart"  where your sure to see at least 7 people from your past and or present. I have 3 sisters, two of which are younger than myself . We learned early that if we wanted pagers, we needed jobs, if we wanted our nails done, we needed jobs; so we picked up "responsibility" early. However that responsibility only went so far, while two of my sisters were pursuing careers in the medical field , I thought it'd be a great idea to become a dancer ( the best dancer ever) so I did. I quit my job as a CNA and began what ended up being over a decade long career, going through the craziest of craziest times as an awesome entertainer.  Life in the fast lane was freaking awesome, however I was in a very abusive toxic relationship with a man I married early who eventually tried to take my life. Yet  this motivated my will for success, yes even in the strip club. I spent most of my time talking, I love to talk dancing was just a bonus for me because my conversations for the most part were always intriguing. I spoke with  people from all walks of life, careers , genders and everyone I spoke to would say to me" you seem very intelligent, what are you doing here? "  I would say, well you seem very intelligent yourself, what are you doing here!!! ???
( funny as fuck) but all jokes aside I wasn't done yet. I mean sure, I could do homework and make the grades and i'm pretty but I lacked love.
Sure I was labeled and sometimes harassed, but when I was on that stage, I could do something that i'd been longing to do and that was love myself. I cherished myself in song and I nurtured myself in dance and  I didn't care who was watching, because it wasn't about them or even their money, it was all about me. Broken or just under developed I learn to love myself  and it's that same dynamite love and commitment that took me from the stage at a club, to a stage in the city auditorium where i graduated with an Masters degree.  Getting my degree  has opened tons of doors for me, and once again I am my own boss and everyone who knows me; knows that is just how I like it...
